If you are in the US, you can now ask YouTube a full question, refine it with follow-ups and skip the Premium subscription. It is English only for now, and there is no date for other countries.
It is a search mode where you type or speak a full question and get an interactive answer that mixes videos and text.
On a phone, the entry point is the "Ask" button in the search bar, according to MediaPost. On videos, 9to5Google describes an "Ask YouTube" button on the watch page.
None of the sources mention a launch beyond the United States. MediaPost says YouTube plans more languages and markets later, with no timeline.
YouTube search is one of the web's main places to learn things, from recipes to repairs.
