You can read your own number straight from Settings in a few taps, on one SIM or two. If it shows up blank, you will know the three places to check next before calling your carrier.
There are two alternatives. You can open the Phone app, go to Contacts and look at My Card at the top of the list, or open the Contacts app and do the same.
Menu names change from one manufacturer to another, so if About phone does not show it, look at the Phone app or at the network, carrier or SIM settings.
The number shown in Settings comes from the SIM, so a blank field points either to the SIM or to a number the carrier did not store there.
Phones with two lines are where most confusion happens.
Once you have the number, test it.
