When the iPhone Duo arrives, the apps you already use will run, but ones that aren't updated may show black borders on the inner display.
Developers can submit iPhone Duo apps and games for approval in App Store Connect right away.
An optimized app doesn't assume a fixed screen size. On a regular phone, developers know the width and height in advance.
You won't be left without your apps. Existing App Store apps run on the iPhone Duo automatically. The catch is that unoptimized apps show black borders instead of filling the inner display.
That last deadline is the one that pushes developers: even those who postpone the work will have to prepare foldable screenshots within a few months.
The device does have a price, set at its September 9 announcement.
