IntelliTechs ยท Oct 18, 2026

What this means for you

If you're shopping for a high-end EV, the GT SUV shows how fast charging can get: 10-80% in 12 minutes, if you can find a charger that keeps up.

What is the AMG GT SUV?

It's the first full-size SUV AMG has developed entirely in-house.

How much power does it make, and how fast is it?

Three trims are planned for the US. Peak power figures are peaks, and the acceleration times are Mercedes estimates:

How fast does it charge?

The GT 63 and GT 55 use a 128 kWh usable, 800-volt battery. Peak DC charging is 710 kW, which takes it from 10% to 80% in 12 minutes and adds up to 282 miles of WLTP range in 10 minutes.

What's the range?

On the European WLTP cycle, the GT 63 and GT 55 are rated at 385 to 435 miles, and the GT 53 at 371 to 415 miles.

Should you wait for it?

If you're a Cayenne Electric shopper, it's worth waiting for the GT SUV's price before signing anything, since the two are this close on power and speed.
