Deleted a photo by accident? If you act within the time limit, it comes back in two taps. After that, only a backup or a copy somewhere else will save it, so check your backups today.
When you delete a photo, your phone doesn't erase it immediately. It moves to a temporary area and is removed for good only after a set number of days.
According to Google's help page, you can restore an item if it went to Trash less than 30 days ago and you haven't emptied Trash or permanently deleted it from there.
Samsung phones have a trash inside the Gallery app. Samsung's support page says deleted images and videos stay in the Recycle bin for 30 days before they're deleted forever.
On iPhone, deleted photos go to the Recently Deleted album and stay there for 30 days. Apple says that after 30 days they're permanently deleted and you can't get them back.
Apple describes the same route on other devices.
